THE COMMUNITY MATTERS AWARD is presented to Francine Feltman (I.) by Len Parren, president of the United Way of Sidney.

SIDNEY - Francine Feltman was recognized at the annual meeting of the United Way of Sidney with the presentation of the 2008 Community Matters Award. This annual award is presented to an individual or organization that has provided significant input into our local United Way and the Sidney community.

Francine joined the Sidney Community Chest (which precluded the United Way) in 1978, and has served in many roles in her 30-year tenure. Francine is proud of her United Way relationship during the campaign with the many union employees who donate annually through the in-house drives at Amphenol and MeadWestvaco. Francine joined the United Way as a representative from Amphenol's union to represent the hourly workers on the United Way Board.

For over 30 years, Francine has explained the valup of donating back to your community through in-house campaigns at local businesses. This year Francine will be joining with Sylvia Roberts to co-chair the 2009.United Way campaign.

United Way,of Sidney President Len Parren said, "Francine's value and dedication to the United Way of Sidney has helped United Way grow to become one of the organizations with the most impact in our community."

In accepting the Community Matters Award, Francine said she has been proud to be part of the Community Chest and United Way program and is glad that she has been able to give back to her community through her involvement.

The United Way of Sidney commends Francine on her long service to the community and wish her the best this year in promoting,a successful 2009 campaign
