Janet Wright Is Honored With
"Community Matters Award"

SIDNEY - At the annual meeting of the Sidney United Way, Janet Wright was awarded the 4th annual Community Matters Award. Janet has served the Sidney United Way as President, Vice-President, campaign cochair, and board member. Her dedication to the Sidney United Way has been important to the growth and success of the United Way in our community.

During Janet's Presidency in 2006, she worked diligently in the flood relief efforts. She formed the Disaster Relief Committee within the Sidney United Way. This committee, along with Habitat for Humanity, helped provide over $30,000 in aid to flood victims in our community. Also, under

Janet's leadership the Sidney United Way helped fund expenses at the local shelter and fire department.

Janet's caring for others and her leadership of the Sidney United Way has earned her the 2008 Community Matters Award. Dennis Porter, Executive Director, commented at the annual meeting that without Janet's leadership and dedication to the community, the United Way of Sidney could not have aided the flood victims in meeting their needs. We salute the good work that Janet has done for the United Way and our community and hope that her civic work will continue to help meet the needs of our community.
